In the past year, we’ve experienced many supply shortages, but no shortage of new challenges as we navigated the new waters of a global pandemic.
Regency at Augusta has prioritized the safety of our resident family while striving to keep morale high when some were feeling isolated from their family and loved ones. Thanks to our heroic team, 2020 saw as many triumphs as struggles. From creative ideas for programs that kept our resident family socially engaged to our COVID-19 testing protocols and safety strategies, the Regency at Augusta family deserves a standing ovation for their incredible work over the past year.
Adapted
Throughout the year, the Regency at Augusta team kept the activity calendar filled with safe and fun activities that had our resident family engaged and content through the difficult (and sometimes isolated) times. They were quick on their feet when it came to implementing the latest safety guidance. They were always one step ahead in making sure the community didn’t run out of critical supplies like masks, toilet paper, and other hard-to-find PPE and necessities.
Regency at Augusta implemented rigorous testing strategies and screening questions for the team and residents that helped keep the virus in check within our community walls.
They did all of this with a smile while remaining calm, cool, and collected.
Connected
Regency at Augusta, along with the rest of the world, became quickly familiar with video conferencing technology. Our activities team was fast to get residents set up to engage with their families and loved ones when visits became impossible.
We even brought on a new Activities Director, Amy Gauldin, in January. She didn’t skip a beat. She has blended well with the team and has implemented great ideas to keep our community engaged.
In December, the Holiday spirit was kept alive with community parties, Christmas tree decorating, and plenty of cookie-baking festivities.
Our staff went above and beyond to make sure our resident family stayed connected to their loved ones throughout the pandemic.
Protected
As the COVID-19 injection became available, our team worked hard to make the first clinic happen as quickly as possible. Our resident family and team members received their first round in late January and the second set in February. Our mantra was “a little poke to spread a lot of hope!”
After each clinic, we had a little celebration to commemorate the occasion.
We are so grateful to have had the opportunity to garner more protection for our community and we are looking forward to the future for our residents and their families.
